I chose this because it claimed great lens and features. It has done nothing but disappoint me. The lens , Of which Carl Zeiss is usually superior, is notably inferior in this model. I get footage with a point and shoot video cam that is as clear as this.

The settings are sensitive, tricky and many times I have gone back to find that what I just thought I recorded did not record at all. I have found many times that it simply did not work, spending two hours at a time on the phone with tech support trying to figure out what went wrong.

In any event, that should not be the case, I should not have to waste time contacting tech support every week because something different is not working.

For this reason, I do not recommend this product, and due to similar issues with other Sony Brand Software, (Point and shoot digital cams, editing softwear) I am not purchasing Sony in the future.

Every review I’ve read has said that this camera has great picture quality, but I’ve found the quality to be so poor it’s almost unbearable to watch the videos. Unless I’m doing something wrong and have the settings on my camera set up incorrectly, the video is just so grainy and so is the pictures.

I purchased this camera yesterday and signed up for Amazon Prime for the free shipping. Today I logged on my bank account on line to see if Amazon charged my debit card for the correct amount. I was astounded to see they charged me $8 for a Belkin cable for the Sony camera and $16 SHIPPING. So much for free shipping. Even if I hadn’t signed up for Amazon Prime I would not agree to pay $16 shipping for an $8 item that weighs 2 ounces. When I called and complained Amazon said I can return the merchandise but shipping charges are not refundable. So I just got ripped off for $16 shipping for an item I can buy at WALMART for $9.
