OK if your standing near your subject, if you need to zoom to see at even a short distance, forget it.

  • Here’s a very handy little camcorder you can carry in your shirt pocket. It’s about the size of king size package of cigarettes and takes surprisingly good video. The Ultra gives you two hours of recording time and is perfect for on the spot videos of breaking news wherever you see it happen. If this little gizmo catches on, police departments throughout the land better be careful of their nightstick activity. Of course it’s also great for watching your kids or grandkids grow up and I’m sure it’s already one of the primary creators of You Tube videos. Of course it doesn’t have the versatility of a full featured camcorder. The zoom range is limited and a bit awkward to operate. It doesn’t take still pics at all, but it looks more like a regular camera than a camcorder, so you can make a video and people will think you’re just taking a picture. Hmm, lots of mischief possibilities there.Flip Ultra Series Camcorder, 60-Minutes (Black)

  • Great little video camera, but be careful, it doesn’t really zoom, so you have to be close to what you are videoing. Great for YouTube and such.

  • I read everything I could about the Flip video before I purchased it.

After it arrived I took it outside and recorded my neighbor, his wife, their son, the dog and the cats. I then uploaded it onto my laptop and the results were wonderful.

I then rigged the camcorder inside my car, using the gadget for my GPS to secure it. I then drove into town recording the trip for about 30 minutes with the radio playing in the background. When I came home I couldn’t wait to see what I had captured. To my utter disappointment, all that I recorded for 30 Minutes was tree tops and power lines, hee, hee…turns out I had the camera pointing too high. Oh, well live and learn.

Next I took my Flip on a 32-hour train ride through Canada, all the way to Halifax, Nova Scotia. I must have several hours worth of video that now needs to be stitched together.

I love my Flip camcorder, it’s so easy to use and above all sooo handy, fits in your purse….always ready!

Good video and sound for what it is… simple, anyone can use this device. I used it at a gathering and told everyone to just pick it up when they wanted to do video… several people did and we ended up with a great video of the nights activities. Plug it in to the computer’s USB and a drive pops up… copy/move your video from the cam to the computer like you would any other file. This is easy, easy, easy.
